Unfinished from prior seasons, the telepath situation is still at issue. The post-war era still has many other problems to be resolved.

Episode Guide:
1. No Compromises (Babylon 5 has a new commander. The telepaths ask to form a colony on Babylon 5.)
2. The Very Long Night of Londo Mollari (Londo has a heart attack. Lennier decides to become a ranger.)
3. The Paragon of Animals (Garibaldi wants to form an intelligence unit consisting of telepaths.)
4. A View from the Gallery (cowritten by Harlan Ellison. Savage aliens attack the station shown from the viewpoint of two crew members.)
5. Learning Curve (A racketeer tries to take over Downbelow.)
6. Strange Relations (Londo evades an assassination attempt.)
7. Secrets of the Soul (The Downbelow citizens don’t like the increasing number of telepaths. Franklin discovers an old secret.)
8. Day of the Dead (The Brakiri conduct a religious ceremony where the dead supposedly return. Zooty’s voice is done by Harlan Ellison.)
9. In the Kingdom of the Blind (Byron uses blackmail to try to get a homeworld of their own for the telepaths.)
10. A Tragedy of Telepaths (Lochley asks that the telepaths be removed, due to rising tensions and violence.)
11. Phoenix Rising (The situation with the telepaths worsens, resulting in several deaths.)
12. The Ragged Edge (G’Kar becames a religious figure after his book is published. There may be a witness to an attack on an Alliance ship.)
13. The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father (Bester shows two PSI Cop interns how he works when he tries to capture a rogue telepath.)
14. Meditations on the Abyss (Lennier investigates the possible Centauri involvement in the shipping line attacks. Vir becomes the Centauri ambassador to Babylon 5.)
15. Darkness Ascending (Lennier continues to investigate the Centauri. Lyta tries to find a homeworld for the telepaths.)
16. And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder (Evidence against the Centauri is presented to the Alliance.)
17. Movements of Fire and Shadow (The White Star fleet is authorized to participate in the war. Tensions with the Centauri worsen.)
18. The Fall of Centauri Prime (The Drakh force Londo to help them. Londo is crowned emperor of the Centauri Republic.)
19. The Wheel of Fire (Earthforce orders Lyta’s arrest. G’Kar worshippers cause problems.)
20. Objects in Motion (cowritten by Harlan Ellison. Michael and Lise are warned that an assassin has been hired to kill them.)
21. Objects at Rest (Many are leaving Babylon 5. Alliance headquarters move to Minbar.)
22. Sleeping in Light (Sheridan invites old friends for a final gathering. Takes place 20 years later. In this final episode, J. Michael Stracynski writes, directs, and makes a cameo appearance as the crew member shutting down the station.)

Although this is the final season, it is not the final DVD set. A collection of the television movies is planned for release in Spring or Summer of 2004. (jmsnews.com has a small amount of information about two DVD sets following the release of B5 Season 5.)

After Season Four’s constant exillerating pace, Season Five slows down to give the show a fresh story-arch climb. The season starts out by introducing the new Babylon 5 Captain, Elizabeth Lockley, an Earth Force Captain who faught for Clark’s regime during the civil war, creating an interesting dynamic between herself, Sheridan, Dellen, and Garibaldi. We are also introduced to the machinations of the Inter Stellar Alliance.

Much of what Sheridan feared in Season Four comes to fruition with the legacy of the Vorlons and Shadows causing the paramount issues through out the year, and his Grandfather’s quote, “The duration is longer than the war,” is explained through action, consequence, and chance.

Much of the drama involved with the telepath crisis is sucked dry due to Ivannava’s absence, with Lyta evoling to capture and express much of the emotional struggles. It is her story sallied with the character of Byron where the show fails to capture the force that was prevelent throughout the previous two and a half seasons, but fear not, their story dominates for a mere four episodes, and with other story lines developing the grand finally along the way, these episdes are not a complete loss.

After the telepath struggle, we get into what I consider to be JMS’s best work, with Londo and G’kar’s relationship developing from hatred to wry friendship. It is here where we see Straczynski pull the carpet out from under us as he uses the entire previous four season of emotions he evoked from us to show us that we are responsible for what we do, for good or ill. We see the struggle for redemtion, the struggle to forgive, the struggle to recreate from ash, and the struggle to give up all of ones self for all of ones family, friends, and people.

The final eleven episodes are the best from the the Universe of Babyon 5, completing a task that was said to be impossible. Thank you B5 staff and crew, and, of course, Mr. Straczynski. You’ve taugh many wonderful ideas in a very insidious fashion, through entertainment. Mark Twain would be proud.

Harry’s a burglar in New York who, to escape arrest, winds up auditioning for a part in a Joel Silver like film that’s destined for Colin Farrell. He’s whisked away to the phony world of LA, where every girl named “Jill” spells it “Jylle.” At a fabulous cocktail party he meets Harlan Dexter, once a B-movie actor and now a very rich enterpreneur whose daughter has only recently returned from a long sojourn to Paris. Harry also meets his high school sweetheart, a girl who never gave him a toss back then, but now she’s seeing him with new eyes. The two of them share an appreciation for the pulp novels of the 1950s and 1960s featuring a Mike Hammer type PI called “Jonny Gossamer.”

KISS KISS BANG BANG is a lot of fun. Walking into the theater you don’t expect such a rambunctious, talky, endlessly yakking movie. You have to be on your toes, narratologically speaking, the entire time, and don’t try leaing your seat to use the restroom, you’ll have missed probably the entire point of the movie. Does even Shane Black know the story he’s written, and why the three women who meet their maker got so confused that neither the police, the detectives, nor the gang that killed them seem to be able to piece them apart, like the old shell game.

The movie is stunning to look at besides. The credits are impeccable; we’ve seen numerous movie credits designed to resemble the old time look of the Bond films, but this one, in rusty shades of orange and black, is stylish and exciting. In general the designers of the movie deserve awards. The use of the hotel Standard is brilliant

Downey Jr and Kilmer are both pretty entertaining, but the excitement here is the performance of Michelle Monaghan as Harmony Faith Lane (a name that, oddly enough, strings together the names of two of Buffy’s betes noires).

As Harmony Miss Monaghan, a Denise Richards lookalike, shows a talent that can stand right up next to the fast talking dames of the thirties like Rosalind Russell or Carole Lombard, and plus she has a genuine American beauty tht makes it believable she could come from somewhere central, like Indiana. You root for her to succeed, even when she shows the more disagreeable sides to her personality.

I can imagine some people disliking the movie and its constant air of being in love with itself, and yet when the dust is cleared we are always searching for an American cinema with wit and flair, and here it is in this giant, heaping portion, and you would be a fool to turn away such bounty on account of its presumption. I hope it does well enough to merit numerous sequels, as THE THIN MAN did. It’s on that level if you ask my opinion.

PS, what happened to Shannyn Sossamon? Seems like just yesterday she was Hollywood’s it girl, enjoying leading lady parts in such films as A KNIGHT’S TALE or THE RULES OF ATTRACTION. Here she plays, get this, “Pink Hair Girl”? Are they trying to punish her for being beautiful and talented, or what?

“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” is so full of energy and forward propulsion that it often trips over its own frenzied notions and plot machinations. This is screenwriter (”Lethal Weapon”) Shane Black’s first film as director and he is very keen on making the most of this opportunity: the 3rd wall is smashed and cleared away, the story is told both in flash backs and in flash forwards and Robert Downey Jr. as Harry Lockhart narrates in deadpan fashion that manages to be extremely witty and droll on the one hand and banal and silly at others.

“KKBB” opens with an explosion of activity in which Harry a petty thief, while in the process of a robbery and running from the police, accidentally bursts into a room in which actors are being auditioned for a movie dealing with private eyes. He is thrust into service as an auditionee and is asked to screen test…moving closer to actually nabbing the movie role. And so it goes: one incredible and often hilarious plot twist after another.

Downey, always a charming performer and who may be a bit too old for this part, in that he is supposed to be the same age as the smart, funny and adorable Michelle Monaghan who plays his childhood friend, Harmony Faith Lane…a great name, by-the-way. But be that as it may, the interplay between Monaghan and Downey as well as that with Val Kilmer as Gay Perry, a gay P.I. (I kid you not) is priceless: all are operating on the very highest level of their performing careers.

Not every thing works in “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” but at least Black, by way of his throw in everything but the kitchen-sink style of directing, exhibits the cojones to play with the conventions of the detective story/thriller movie and make it work…most of the time: you must often risk the ridiculous in order to achieve the sublime is a lesson that Black has seemed to have learned very well.

This tale of a Christmas-loving dog who tries to help Santa make his deliveries is both cute and innocent enough for young kids and hip enough for their Gen X parents. For example there’s a great line that parodies the “you’re no Jack Kennedy” remark Lloyd Bentsen made to Dan Quayle in the 1988 VP debates. That’s going to go over the head of any kid, but they’ll be wondering why Mommy and Daddy think it’s so funny. And that’s not the only joke snuck in for the grown ups.

With a larcenous penguin as a companion, Olive meets interesting and interestingly-named characters as she heads to the North Pole to save Christmas. This special truly deserved its Emmy nomination and will entertain both you and your kids.

A last bit of trivia: When Drew Barrymore (the voice of Olive) was in Woody Allen’s musical, “Everyone Says I Love You”, she was the only star in it who was able to convince Woody her singing was so bad that she should have a voice double for her songs. That should make it all the more interesting when you get to hear Drew sing in “Olive, The Other Reindeer”.

How could you not love this story? The title alone will make you smile! But then someone got the great idea of animating this story of a small but brave little dog named Olive who jumps at the chance to join Santa’s team of reindeer when Blitzen is injured AND letting Drew Barrymore do the voice of Olive. By the time you recognize the voices of Dan Castallaneta, Ed Asner, Peter MacNichol and Michael Stipe, you realize that they all signed on because this is a quality holiday story. It has been a long time boys and girls since we have had a new one this good to enjoy during the holiday season. Even if you have not enjoyed the charming book by J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh, you will adore the movie. Or visa versa. If you have kids they will want to watch this one over and over, but do not worry about it; you will not mind that one bit.

Movie Title: The Graduate
Average customer review:

The Graduate is available for streaming or downloading.

Click Here to Stream or Download The Graduate

The Graduate is a great film and I grow to love it more with each viewing. Everything is nearly perfect about it. The script, Mike Nichols’ direction, the performances of Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft and Katherine Ross, the music of Simon and Garfunkel. It’s funny yet dramatic, moving and profound all at the same time. A very enjoyable film all around. Dustin Hoffman has rarely been better than in The Graduate, although he has certainly given many other fine performances (Midnight Cowboy, Rain Man, Kramer Vs. Kramer). However, even more than those pictures, Hoffman will always be remembered for The Graduate and his portrayal of an awkward young man trying to get a hold on his life.

Also worth noting in particular is the direction of Mike Nichols. He truly gives the film a unique visual style to make it an experience rather than just a comedy/drama. Note the opening credits with Hoffman on an airport moving sidewalk set to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence”. Nichols’ uses cuts very interestingly in several scenes such as the scene where Benjamin jumps up on his raft in the pool, and lands in bed with Mrs. Robinson. He also uses zooms to great effect throughout the film. Nichols’ Best Director Oscar for this film was well-deserved. I think that Hoffman’s performance should have won also, as well as the screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry.

One other thing that I must mention is that The Graduate absolutely must been seen in its original aspect ratio! If you’re not watching a widescreen version, then you’re not watching The Graduate. The film was shot in the Panavision process with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Mike Nichols makes wonderful use of the 2.35:1 frame, so the film will be absolutely botched in pan and scan. If you watch The Graduate in full-screen pan and scan, you’re really, really missing out. The visual impact of the film will be irreparably damaged.

The DVD is adequate, but this film deserves much better. The disc is labeled a special edition, but it’s really too skimpy to be that. At very least you’re getting a widescreen version of the film. However, the transfer is not enhanced for 16:9 televisions. What we need is a fully remastered 16:9 transfer which would be immensely beneficial. The picture quality is fair, but could be so much better. It’s really stunning what difference a brand new remastered 16:9 transfer can make for an older film like this. Just look at the new DVD of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. The film also deserves better supplemental materials. A better documentary and a commentary by the filmmakers would be great. A seperate commentary by Dustin Hoffman would be even better. I’m convinced that someday The Graduate will receive a worthy DVD edition, and I will wait until then to purchase it.

Looks like MGM finally is giving “The Graduate” a grownup DVD.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Graduate! Click Here

The Mike Nichols film has suffered through the DVD era so far, represented by a series of double-dip issues that perpetuated the same sorry source materials: grainy picture, grating audio — the typical first-generation DVD blahs.

Here comes “The Graduate: 40th Anniversary Edition,” due Sept. 11. Fox’s specs show 2.35:1 widescreen with DTS and Dolby Surround. This appears to be in true widescreen. (The previous DVDs’ version apparently was created by throwing letterboxing atop the full-screen version. Seems the guy who was so big on plastics got into the home video business.)

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Graduate! Click Here

Check out the new extras:

* Commentary by Dustin Hoffman and Katherine Ross

* Commentary by director Nichols and Steven Soderbergh

* Retrospective documentary that interviews “Graduate” write Buck Henry, producer Lawrence Turman, Richard Roeper and some random others.

* “Coming of Age: The Making of The Graduate” featurette

* “Would You Like Me To Seduce You: The Seduction Scene Revisited” featurette

Along with some odds and ends ported over from the older discs.

Disc 2 has a pleasant surprise: Simon & Garfunkle’s soundtrack, in CD form.

I’ll be revisiting the film for Hoffman’s sonic boom of a breakout performance; the “Mrs. Robinson” song and seduction scene; and Ross’ beautifully naturalistic presence. Koo-koo-ka-choo.

For starters, I agree with all the positive things said about this 2-disc set.

Unfortunately, there a couple of things about the discs that just spoiled the whole experience for me and may do so with you.

First, there is a “motion blur” or “ghosting” artifact that runs throughout the 1929/30 restoration. It looks similar to what a transfer from PAL video format to NTSC video format looks like only more exaggerated (images appear to be overlapped or double–sometimes triple–exposed). During the unmasking, Chaney’s face is unnecessarily blurred, even when using freeze frame and stepping through the scene frame by frame.

Milestone has acknowledged the “ghosting”, attributing it to adjusting the frame rate of the film during transfer from video master to video master. Incidentally, the original video master was in PAL format and was converted to NTSC for US, but Milestone claims PAL to NTSC was not the cause. Since they performed the additional restoration/picture cleaning on the overly “ghosted” transfer, it became a trade-off as to whether to present the cleaned up version or the “unghosted” version. Why such extensive restoration was done to a video master with excessive motion blur is beyond me.

For some folks, this will be a minor thing. For others, it will be very distracting and cast a dark cloud over what looks like to be the cleanest `print’ of this movie in existence. I will be keeping the other Image DVD edition with the David Shepherd restoration.

Secondly, for the special features, the pause, fast forward, and reverse functions have been disabled. This can be a bit of a nuisance. For example, there is a 21 minute “restored version” of the films’ original premiere utilizing stills and expository text. This I was excited about. However, unless you are a speed reader, you won’t be able to read everything in one viewing. You can’t pause it, or “rewind” to read what you missed. It is like trying to enjoy a book (both text and pictures) with someone else turning the pages for you. If you miss something, you have to start over from page one and go through again.

Again, some of you won’t care about the motion blur one iota. Others will feel as I do: This disc should’ve been a contender but instead, it feels like a missed opportunity.

Warning to all purist. The DVD of the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is not the triumph of preservation its advertised as being. First and most important to home theatre owners, the transfer is simply not in focus! Unlike in the movie theatre you cant ask the projetionist to refocus the image.. you are stuck with it. Secondly: if the “preservationists” found the best pre-print material in the 1929 synchronized re-edit as described on the liner notes, why in heavens name don’t they present it as originally shown? Pretending that it is the silent version by replacing the soundtrack may be the loophole by which the film could be categorized as public domain but it is inherently dishonest to present it as an example of “film preservation”. The original silent cut, the synch sound release and the present (refocused) remaster would be much more apreciated service to posterity. Look to other silent film transfers for guidence in image quality limits. If the box indicates that the contents are a “SPECIAL COLLECTOR’S EDITION” and advertises “PRIME..35mm QUALITY” one wishes it lived up to its promise. I liked this alot. The action and comedy was great and alla dat but the only problem is it follows the same routine as almost all of the DbZ movies.Villian comes, everybody gets their asses whooped, Goku needs them to donate their energy, then he makes a big-ass spirit bomb only this time he punched Broly in the gut. It’s just that using the same way to get rid of enemies just gets, gets plain “Old”.This was good but like i said doing they’re same old thing.

First, let me say that Broly has to be the most overhyped character by many DBZ fans. I noticed one reviewer stated that he could transform into a Super Saiyan 3 and beyond. Well, that is a straight up lie! Broly never even becomes a Super Saiyan 2! Being the true Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly’s Super Saiyan form is unique from the other Saiyans. In his ultimate form, he is VERY bulky and has no pupils. I used to believe that he was using the Ultra Saiyan form, which is the form that Future Trunks uses when he fights Perfect Cell, but I no longer do because an Ultra Saiyan, though much stronger than a normal Super Saiyan, is much slower due to the huge muscle increase. However, Broly has no problems with keeping up with the other Saiyans, as you will see in this movie. Therefore, I believe he simply has his own “Legendary Super Saiyan form” that no other Saiyan can achieve. It’s either that, or he has somehow overcome the flaw of the Ultra Saiyan form. Though he is definately one of the most powerful and deadly villains in the DBZ universe, his strength is often times greatly overestimated. Now, it is true that he is much more powerful than the other Saiyans in their first stage Super Saiyan forms, but it is questionable how he would fare against a Super Saiyan 2 (NOTE: Gohan never changes to a Super Saiyan 2 in this movie, and if he did would probably kick Broly’s butt) and he is definately no where near as strong as Super Saiyan 3 Goku.

Now that I’ve cleared that up, about the movie itself. Plot wise, I think it’s the best of the DBZ movies. It’s the only one of the 13 that’s over an hour long. However, the fight with Broly was so one sided that after awhile it gets a bit boring, and the way they actually defeat him is pretty anti-climatic. However, if you’re a big DBZ fan, I’d say it’s worth the buy, or at least a rental.

This begins the second “season” of this story. While it builds somewhat on the original storyline,it adds new plots but only a few new cast. It is less complicated than the first series and the fan service is somewhat subdued which alows more attention to be paid for the evolving story line.”Mou-chan”,long one of my favorites, begins to emerge as a more central character that grows further as this series continues into the third season. The lance-armed girl on the cover also begins to rise in plot status that continues throughout the entire series while Hukufu’s starring role is retained. This volume is a neccessary step in a continuing storyline that the devotees will not soon tire of.

This film is a throwback to those old 50’s horror films that had classic monsters doing battle with each other coupled with the wit of the 60’s era all combined with the thrills and special effects of today’s films.

Entertainment rarely gets better than this. Now stop laughing at my five stars for this kind of film. This isn’t the five stars you would give a film like Platoon or The Painted Veil. It’s more like the five stars you would you give a film like Aliens or Die Hard. This is fun, thrilling, and engaging entertainment. It’s simple popcorn fun that the whole family, for the most part, can enjoy. The CGI can be a little over-the-top, but it is still excellently done and doesn’t get in the way of the story.

The film has engaging actors who, while playing their roles with some seriousness, you can tell that it is all tongue-in-cheek and one expects them to wink at the camera at any time. Hugh Jackman certainly carries the film with great charm and coolness that reminds one of Ford’s Indiana Jones. Kate Beckinsale is great as his reluctant partner and just looks dang sexy in this role that brings to mind her Underworld character. She just sizzles on the screen. In addition, excellent support is rendered by David Wenham, most known for his roles in 300 and The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy, Richard Roxburgh of Stealth, Kevin J. O’Conner from The Mummy, and Robbie Coltrane who is best known as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films.

The direction is confidently done and unobtrusive. He combines action and horror very effectively. The photography is appropriately creepy and atmospheric. The set designs are elaborate and the score is compelling. The entire film is excellently produced and is what I call a high octane film. This film gets you running on all cylinders. Watch it and have a blast enjoying it for the kind of entertainment it is.

The film is thrilling and suspenseful with the various classic creature battling each other and at times forming uneasy alliances. This is just old fashioned witty and enjoyable entertainment. The repeat value of this film is what also makes this film worthy of a place in your DVD collection.

All said and done, this film is a tremendous amount of fun. Director Stephen Sommers takes the stuff of our favorite fictional monsters and blends them together to create a highly imaginative reconstruction of the story of Dracula. Resemblances to Bram Stoker’s original tale are entirely accidental. Instead we find Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) using with Dr. Frankenstein (Samuel West) to serve some dark and nefarious purpose. Not very far in the background is a werewolf (Will Kemp) who carries part of the answer to the puzzle - when he isn’t trying to chew a hole in Gabriel Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman).

Kate Beckinsale plays Anna Valerious, the last living member of her family, who have been dedicated to exterminating Dracula for some 400 years. Thanks to an oath of her forefathers, the Valerious line is condemned to purgatory as long as Dracula wanders the night. Concerned that this curse is about to become permanent, a secret order of the Catholic Church sends in their best occult assassin - Van Helsing - aided reluctantly by Friar Carl (David Wenham), who plays the mad inventor to Van Helsing’s athletic efforts. Gabriel shows up to help Anna, is promptly rebuffed by the woman, whose mind is definitely her own. But the action goes ballistic, and no one gets time to be banished or stomp off.

And of action, special effects, stunts. and computer graphics there is a great muchness. Most of which looks just believable enough to keep the audience staring open mouthed at the screen. An outstanding job is done with Dracula’s wives (Elena Anaya, Silvia Colloca, and Josie Maran) and the Frankenstein monster (Shuler Hensley). So good that these characters very nearly steal the entire show. Sets are equally carefully crafted, with a marvelous medieval town and two whole gothic castles. The visual impression of the film often completely overwhelms the story.

The acting is bright, with a slightly crude, sarcastic style of interplay between the characters. The overall touch is comedic, despite the inevitable sour grapes of the ending. Don’t look for greatness here. The point is to create an exciting, fun experience, not to recreate the dark and brooding spirit behind the originals. Sommers does well with this tongue-in-cheek, cut-and-run style and Van Helsing proves this once again

Its a pretty big nail too.

This is the first well produced video that I’ve seen on the concept of the Anthropic Principle, the observation that our habitable earth…is just a little too perfect for life to exist when compared to the rest of the known Universe.

I’m pleased to see Dr. VanMeurs doctoral dissertation of a review on a video he’s apparently never seen.

So for everybody else…here’s a review by someone who HAS watched the video.

Very well produced and digitally filmed. The graphic presentations are excellent and near the level of the first edition in this series.

The scientists interviewed are very articulate and not out to bash you with the concept of “God” but to point out that the concept of our Universe actually teeming with life… is something that seems to fly in the face of the known facts.

FOR EXAMPLE: If we just took the space between Alpha Centauri and the star we call our Sun (about 4.3 light years) there seems to be only about a 2 mile layer of atmosphere that is known to be habitable by humans, without the aid of some sort of equipment.

Most of the video spends its time on the major points of the Anthropic Principle…right kind of sun, location in the solar system, location in the galaxy, atmosphere, presence of water…etc.

I wish there had been more video of the earth’s landscapes used…simply because our earth is beautiful…and the respect this video gives it is breathtaking.

I found myself being in awe of the minuscule proportion of my existence as compared to the rest of the universe, yet somehow trying to figure out in all that space…why so little of it is accessible to a human being and why are we concsious of this fact?

The video should be an excellent starting point to start any discussion on the eternal question… “Why?”

Its been said that the Intelligent Design movement is dangerous. Dangerous to who? Those who have the most to lose in a debate I guess. Those who have no answer to the “Why?”

One technical flaw…on the bonus features, one of the pages on the Q & A section has no picture…but still works.

I’m absolutely baffled at how many reviewers bring up the subject of “evolution” in their reviews of this DVD. Be they for it, or against it, they seem to base their opinion on it based on how they feel about “evolution”. However, this DVD actually does not really take on that topic at all! What it does cover is something along the lines of Peter Ward’s “Rare Earth”. The uniqueness of earth in its ability to foster life.

Yes, it does have more of an Intelligent Design slant, which isn’t suprising considering who made it, but there is nothing actually against the theory of evolution in this video at all. If you decided to love or hate this DVD, don’t base your opinion of it on your opinion of Darwinism (be it for or against). That’s really not the substance of the video, and anyone who thinks it is is completely missing out on the focus of the video.

This video is really well done, and features narration by John Rhyes Davies. If you’re interested more in this subject, I’d definitely recommend the book “Rare Earth”, or the DVD “If We Had No Moon” (narrated by Patrick Stewart).
